Their Teir 3 unit, the Shadow Stalker, and his 50% frost damage shreds my draconian forces due to 20% frost weakness. Rogues are the hard-counter to Draconians and wipe the floor with High Elves. Pre-flame tank dreadnought spells and machine-focused abilities have great synergy with trebuchets and battering rams, which makes them amazing at city sieges. They only come out later than hunters because dreads get a dedicated summoned scout unit. Musketeers are fantastic (especially when paired with an engineer or two). Dreadnought just feels like it takes forever to do anything cool with it. An archdruid can put out insanely powerful Hunters within the first 10 turns. This means not using it on units in guard mode (+2 resistance), and doing what you can to lower their resistance if necessary (orc priests are great at this).ĭreadnought just feels like forever until you actually produce useful racial units, and even then they do not self-repair. You need to use it on things without a ton of resistance. Given that you can simply build a cheap city building that gives you more mana, this can be quite potent.īard and succubi abilities are great, but you need to know how charm works. Treasure Raiding and Corpse Looting are a way to translate mana into gold. Rogue offensive city enchantments are among the best in the game (plague of brigands lol), their units aren't strong head to head but are quite versatile. Rogue has a lot of great units for indirectly farting over your opponents. In fact, very few rogue units really have this. Treasure Raiding and Corpse Looting do not seem worth the mana cost. Seems like the control abilities from Bards and Succubi rarely ever work. Rogue seems geared toward concealment on the world map, which seems to have no use against the CPU, and plus it's pretty easy to build units with forest concealment with other classes.
