Select exclusively resource crates and you are getting coal at the same time. How are the two different? By grinding fxp you are de facto grinding xp. If it can be earned through coal it should also be earn-able through free XP end of story. I have no problem with them selling it in the shop, nor an issue with it being purchasable via coal, my issue is that free xp isn't also an option. Making it coal only defeats that purpose and is almost a slap in the face for people that play more battles than needed to earn 3 crates. The tier 9 freemium ships were supposed to be free XP sinks and a reward to long time active players, even an incentive to keep playing in themselves. With it just being coal you are limited to 3 at a maximum containers a day, cannot pick any other choice but "more resources" and are subject to RNG. The better you play the more free XP you earn. Here's the rub I have with that, with free XP you can spend more time, use modifiers (signals, camos, specific ships with better returns) and player skill comes into play. It's up to you to decide if Jean Bart is worth 275 days of investement. Also keep in mind you'll sometime get 1.2k or 800 coal in a single container or even 15k coal in a SC. That's a lot of time and investement but wether it's worth the time depends on your motivation to get the ship. You will need 275 day to unlock Jean Bart.
The first 2 container are easy to unlock so it's a minimum of 800 coal / day. Coal is fairly easy to obtain, granted you agree to spend some time in game.
